I hope the total weight will be under 2 kilo's that will mean it's €19,95, if not then it will be about €32,50 :'(

Just talked with Jonathan & Joe and unfortunatly the shipping is gonna be the "expensive" premium package shipping :( So expect a 32,50 charge
-

oh...
-

so like $185 in total to get it to the US?

Yes it will about $185 - $190 to get it to the US
-

damn.. I cant really spend that much. I was hoping for more like $150. I mean $150 is still expensive, but I probably would have done it... :(

Well. I think I'm gonna buy it. If I can get it before it sells out that is. This may be my only chance to own a bunny smoking pot... :)
-

so sad to see these gone to flippers.. chances are looking slim for me owning this guy one day =(
-
they will come down, one day... I bought a Toxic Ringo 4 years ago for $700, and the last one I saw went for $250. So... keep the faith! True JLed fans will can outlast the flipping flippers. =)

Hello, fellow Rotocasters! I hope everyone's doing OK...
You may think the quarantine was a good opportunity for me to dust my toy collection and yet I did not do it :)
How about you? All dusted?
Stay safe and wear your masks!

Pre-ordered. Finding out about stuff like this is my favorite aspect of Rotocasted. This is the coolest thing I've seen in quite awhile.

unfortunately 200 pieces is not easy to sell
-

I hadn't read about it before I saw it here. I read Plastic and Plush and occasionally LowBrownie. I still don't think the former has mentioned it, and the latter only mentioned it yesterday. Looks like it had popped up on Toys R Evil and Vinyl Pulse, but they're a bit too high-volume for me.

It's a lovely piece but it just won't really fit in my collection.
As I've run out of shelve space (and money) I start thinking about my collection as a whole - there might be some amazing toy/sculpture I love but I don't see how I can display it and can't justify spending the money. Unless I really fall in love :) -

if he wasnt on the price-ier side ida picked him up, cool idea. dont usually dig wood pieces, but i can dig this guy!

-

Mine arrived too, I like it very much and it's actually a bit bigger than expected, but it does have a few scratches and some damage, as well as lines and even cracks on all 4 sides where I suppose the wood's glued together.
-

Pretty poor QC on these LB. If you email them, they will replace. Good customer service.
-
Mine also arrived broken. The poor chap has been decapitated. :-(
-
Mine is here, and in good shape. Very mild scuffing on the sides, doesn't detract from the *amazing* sculpt.
-
Got mine too. Only few attritions on the head. The figure is amazing!

Surely they should arrive in impeccably perfect condition, as they are premium priced art toys?
-
even though it has a sarcastic tone to it.. i agree with dans statement. you spend that much money on a piece of 'art', i think it should be free of defects..
does anyone know if they plan to make more of these? i might pick one up in a week or so, i wouldnt mind a couple more to stack! -
10 years ago
I should imagine there will be plenty of different releases for this piece, they are already on 3.
Apologies for the sarcasm. I'm like that first thing in the morning. -
10 years ago
The packaging had no padding at all, which is strange for such a delicate figure, IMHO. I contacted MJ, and they will send me a new one. They're awesome.

i wanted to do an exclsuive and told me they would limit to 3 editions total... so there should be not more coming
-
yeah, but they said they were done with the bad apple, and i know they made atleast 2-3 other colorways after that, and those two 'drippy' ones. weird.
-
I was at the STGCC yesterday and I asked them if they had more colorways for the Bad apple and they said that they are done with it.
Missed out on this one though :( -

Petite and expensive, just my type. Hope she's worth it.
-
pretty expensive indeed :( I fear I'll regret not pre-ordering it
-
I'm not really sure if it's made of vinyl, on the bottom of the product page it says "resin cast" and at the top "vinyl toy". Anyway I would have loved to get this, but it's quite a bit above my price range.
-
Will stand nicely next to my giclée woodprint of Les Viandardes!

McBess uses a lot of R's in his graphic work. I think it referes to R2 - Rock & Roll.

Did anyone get one of the Tattoo'ed versions? Really interested to see what they look like.

Here's a tattooed one :-) Nice, but I expected a fully tattooed mermaid.

Another tattooed ver.
http://toysrevil.blogspot.ru/2013/12/a-peek-at-inked-half-mermaid-from-mcbess.html -
10 years ago
She looks better without the tattoos if I may be honest... :-)
Compared with the Viandardes, this tattooed version is kinda "pittyful" imo :D -
10 years ago
The figure's name is The Half Mermaid. Rename it, please.
-
Yep, much better un-tatooed; hope not getting a tattoed version. :/
-
i am sure someone would be more than willing to swap you if you got a tatted version
-
:| Crossing fingers, i dont want a tatooed one.
-
It's funny that the extra tattoos (what started out as a "gift" for collectors from McBess because they were running late on delivering these Mermaids) became something that people wished they wouldn't receive :D
The hard fact of great idea, bad execution :D -
10 years ago
Yeah i agree, if the tatoos were similar to the Viandardes it would be Great. :D
-
@honest. ive seen/read people whod love to own a tatted version.. dont speak for every one ;)
-
@kittykittymeow666 Ofcourse there are and it wasn't my intention to speak for every one :-) Sorry if it seemed that way. It just feels like a common opinion when I bring up the tatted version of the Mermaid. And there is a difference of wanting someting because of the visual appeal or the "exclusivity". (read the Viandardes comments for that :-D )
If you're going for the exclusivity, there was told that there would be 5 pieces with tattoos, but I know already of 3 people in a radius of 20km of where I live that have a tatted version (they know McBess personally), so I'm guessing there are a lot more than just 5. -
10 years ago
just giving you a hard time ;) ive heard both sides to the story.
-
@kittykitty Shame on you :D And I was about to say I like your nickname! Shame, on, you! :p
-

-

I agree with Honest. I respect other people´s reasons, but i buy this figures for the visual appeal, the joy of seeing something it makes me happy, like a childhood memory. ;)

So what is the bird dog lady lacking? What is the quality that a Formal or an Uglydoll has that Parra's figures don't? They're all simple, clean sculpts, with simple paint jobs. What separates them?
-
Needs 2 big bunny ears, and a Kidrobot logo on the bottom of its foot.
-
Personally I appreciate Parra. I don't own any of his pieces, but I find the clean, simple form and curves of his style appealing.
-
I like his cheeky/filthy sense of humour, and the french styling. Magnifique!
-
Well there is that too ;)
-
@shank, his faces and boots bother bother me. just not my style.. and it also bothers me that his feet look broken (ive had a compound fracture, so maybe that has something to do with it..) reminds me of something my grandma would collect. Please keep formal outta this, he is a gentlemen ;)

Not so much this one, just Parra in general.
-
My love for Parra started out with his graphic work. To see this translated in a 3D form, is just amazing for the fans! Also, I think it's great that his typical and recognizable style (typo & character) seems timeless after almost being unchanged for 10 years.
