Between the colors, the expression and the actual sculpt, this toy is an all-around winner. Can't wait to see it in person!

This was based on the 1983 movie The Deadly Spawn and was sold through Mondotees.com to promote the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, TX. 15 pieces were sold to U.S. customers and 10 were for international customers.

Could anybody briefly describe what exactly is the appeal of this particular figure? I don't want to start a Kozik or labbit argument, but purely what do you like about this specific figure?

Kozik's answer: It makes me money.

The "smorking" is part of Kozik's satirical appeal.

I think this labbit is cute but I won't be buying it.

I think the labbit is actually a perfect vinyl piece- in the world of potamus, mongers, random animals, whatever- this is the one that works for me. It's dead-ironic but not, dead but alive, judgmental but blank- large, smooth, simple- and a bunny who is actually on all fours. This labbit isnt great- it feels like a cheap version of the castro one from Series 1 or the special 10" ones- but those were super-smart: all olive, single red star, and the smork was centered because it was a cigar and brown.

I got this because my wife was a Navy Corpsman and when I showed it to her, she said I had to get it.

It was raining out today. Thus, it warranted the Wish List -> Collection move.

Alphabeast: Calli Silver

This silver Alphabeast: Calli is a "replacement" for the gold edition that had QC defects. Flopdoodle provided these to anyone who sent back their gold edition. The silver colorway improves upon the paint app issues in that the silver is actually silver (the gold edition is actually dark green). However, you can still see the stripes through the eyes and mouth (though not as much as in the gold edition), and as you can see in the picture above (which is my figure), the stripes aren't exactly straight. (Look at the one between the eyes, ouch!)

All that said, I am a sucker for green toys and a fan of Tim Biskup. I was glad to be able to procure the set. It's marked 2004 on the feet, but the official word is that it came out in 2006 for Tim Biskup's show in Spain. If you're not a freak about paint app, this is a shot at getting two iconic green Alphabeasts in one fell swoop.

I got mine from Neon Monster, where there are a couple more sets for sale: http://neonmonster.com/NeonMo...
