I just got my purple kid dragon from the upper playground booth at SDCC 2010. I had the OG version and I noticed that they were slightly different: the tip of the tail of the purple one was facing the other way (the most curved, light colored tip is on the belly side and the up facing, deep purple colored one is on the fin side). I've been looking at pics of other kid dragons and I found a couple on ebay that have the tail facing the same way as mine, but for the most part they are Anyone ever noticed that? Are there two versions of this kid dragon out there?

thanks, but its not really related to pics, I've been looking very carefully, check out the difference in this tail with the one in my flikr pics. http://farm5.static.flickr.co.... Can you see the flare part of the tail is backwards compared to the pic in this page? Check out how the fin side of the tail is placed compared to the curved light purple tip of the tail.

I see what you mean now....hmmmm. I'd email Loyal Subjects and ask.
I don't have one of these to check, but I'm assuming that the flare of the tail cannot be rotated?

I would say the sculpt was changed for balance issues. Not only the direction of the tail was changed, clouds were added to bulk it up and give a lower centre of gravity.

That would be a plausible explanation. I've emailed the loyal subjects. I'll post here when they give me an answer

This was the answer I received from the loyal subjects:
The tail of the Regular Edition and Gold Edition are both facing the same way.
The tail of the Purple, Blue and Grey Editions are facing the opposite way.
We did this to create a different look for the variants.
