Do we have to wait to hear back from emailing info@lunartik.com or do we just send the tokens to the above address? What's the point of emailing him anyway/ why couldn't the address just been published and cut out the middle step?
-
I just sent mine off, where does it say to email?
-
On the tea token "drop us a line" to info@lunartik.com
/>Then he sends the address to post the tokens to. But I guess you are bypassing that step. -

I'm sorry to say I'm a bit disappointed with this piece now that I have it in-hand. The joints at the legs are so loose that you can't really set any sort of pose and the whole thing just has a very cheap feel to it. I'm usually not one to judge a toy like this by the "feel" but something about it just doesn't feel "right".
-
Thanks for the info!
-
Maybe you got a bit of a wonky one Fetus :(
Although the body is made of ABS so that might be the problem you have with it not feeling "right". -
10 years ago
Actually, it is a bit wobbly. I have one too. But I like the design, so that makes up for it.

I'm digging these guys as well. They're going to be released at Dcon this weekend. Artist custom editions will be shown as well I believe. Check out Le Merde's blog to scope out the awesome piece he created!

$38 is actually pretty reasonable for a limited edition resin figure. they are up for pre-order now.

Reasonable yes. I like it... but its kinda at that price where I have to really think about it before I buy... If it was 30, I would snatch it up in a heart beat. But that's just me.

Silicon is very good as capturing the texture of a material and resin is very good at reproducing it :)

Yeah this is incredible. I had the same reaction: is this actually resin or did the gallery accidentally send me a wood version? I purchased this resin one-off from Scott's recent gallery show in Portland. I confirmed with both Scott and the gallery that it's resin. There are subtle differences in size and weight and coloring. I love it in resin!

Just checked and the blue and brown colorways (one-off, hand-painted, HEAVY, 6-inch RESINS) are still available. $60 is a steal for this piece. The gallery people were really nice, too.

No wood box for the resin version, but it did come well-packed in a cardboard box with stickers on the sides. Sometimes I'm glad when I get a toy with packaging I can recycle. I've now got boxes of toy boxes stacking up. I want to keep the packaging on a lot of toys, but at a certain point, it gets impractical!

Jeff Pidgeon blogged about this once -
the Resins were the ones Scott made first, and the masters were molded from actual wood sculpts :) -

There are a couple of different ways ;) There are also some Japanese sites that will act as a go between for you for a nominal fee. I'll see if I can find out their names.

I contacted my proxy about this when it was first shown off, so hoping they don't sell out before I can snag one.
