This, and the others on the site, make me sick.
But I guess someone might like them. -

Yes, there's something unsettling about helpless things being abused. Babies, old people, animals; let them be. You want to abuse something with your art? Abuse me, I can take it.

I don't understand: is that a real puppy???
-
Nope, it's made of resin.
-

I like it for the reason you all hate it. and I dont mean that in a mean way.
-

@J_Walrus "the others on the site." Which others? I only found this under the artist's name.
-
I think j_walrus meant on the artists store, at the where to buy link.
-

Shankweather: So true.
Jazzydan: Yep, I referred to the others sold in the artist store. -

A puppy fell asleep distracted in the streets and got his body covered with drawings.
It´s a metaphor about the huge street art movement in the city of Berlin where you can find zones fully covered of graffiti -
13 years ago
it looks more like a dead puppy to me, which got later abused as a "canvas"
and when you check the other 2 puppies in the shop of the artist. one is laying in its own vomit and the other one has tire marks on its back to make it look like, it got driven over by a car...
i know, everyone has a different taste and the artist might just point out certain problems occuring "on the streets"...but still, that kind of art makes me sad...

So glad I scored this one! My favorite of the bunch.
-

Is it in ok quality? People have been saying theirs aren't.
-
The quality is indeed not the best I've seen (some of the unicorn's mane is a bit scuffed). :-(

Should there be a separate listing for the SDCC silver set one(s)?

Is this considered a collectible toy?

Collectible clock?
-
I've been thinking of adding the Kit-Cat Clock, but have been hesitant as it's not really a toy (but has the same aesthetics), but perhaps this means it's ok?
-
I would assume so...they are pretty limited...
-
ermmm sorry, but I don't think clocks belong here...IMHO
-
I don't see a problem with this being on the site.
1. It's limited.
2. It's "Artsy"
3. It's Plastic
4. If Ashley Wood put a clock in one of his figures you would
be fine with it. -

No, I wouldn't! -

"That's also what you can read on must collectable toys; "not for children under 3 years. Intended for adult collectors".
Anythig Metal Gear related is considered to be collectable. Ages 15+. and limited to 2000 plus its hella expensive. Play the game and you'll have a new perspective on GA-KO. -

Sure, but this is a not a disscussion whether "items" are expensive. - And I already played played the game. Actually love it! :)

So when you were watching Sunny burn the hell out of Snake's eggs you didn't stop and think "I really want that duck"?

Oops, got me there! I only played the first version for PS1. But, honestly...don't you think this is considered more like merchandise, than a toy?
-
Honestly...I think it lands right in the middle somewhere. It's a toy with purpose. I'm probably just being bias because I'm a Metal Gear fan...But no one buys it becasue it's a clock, they buy it because it's GA-KO...
-
You really should catch up on the rest of the games...I heard that there may be a movie comming out soon but it could just be a rumor...
-

Does that mean I can post some McFarlane figures on here?

I consider "designer toys" to be modern day porcelain statues that are designed and developed to be about the creation of a toy, with the mentality of being a display piece. Not toys based off of property licenses of TV, movies, cartoons, games or any other medium that came before the continued sales of their properties through the toy medium.
In regards to whats on the site, I don't think there can ever be 100% rules for what can or can't be uploaded but seeing toys created from very big properties shouldn't be on here. -
13 years ago
Although this functions as a clock, I actually display this with my other Metal Gear toys in a display case without batteries inside the clock. ;)
I consider this more of a toy than a clock. Since there is the development of a section of this site for toys based off of other IPs, I think we should leave all movie, game, etc based toys on the site until the function to categorize them into this other 'non-designer toy' is implemented. :) -

And this is one of the reasons why I won't be buying BBF Series 2. So many redos of figs from Series 1, it's ridiculous!
-
@elissa_s You're so right! I've just looked at the Series 1 figures (I didn't know about this series before the current one), and Travis Cain indeed re-used his designs. Pity. :-(
-
It shows such a lack of originality that three figures from the first series have been redone for the second. And the fact that this figure had a different colourway for the chase in series and then they've added yet another colourway for series two, it looks like sheer laziness! ... just, argh!

These 3 small happy boys...they're....beyond every toy you have ever felt! They're like some perverse metaphoric mirror for .....I don't know..But The über happy Convex face, smiling at you in his clear transparent body, with that far out cyborg inside him..(The cyborg looks like ....Bart Simpson on a really bad day.....and that nervous fella from The Muppet Show...
It's like two/ three toys in one..) will make you stare and try to figure out..WHY.!?!
Pure pop art!.
95 % feel.
