A so sad adventure... Someone, on another website where I like to go, wanted to sell it, but when I sent him a message, he had already sold it two minutes before... ;o(

Sergey is our King, he made this wonderful space for us. Dan is our prince, and his wifey is Elissa - the princess. I'm the jester! (just kidding). Vera is ...well, our magic concubine ("been there, done that)"!

I really like Sfar's style and I've been tracking toys from this series to no avail... eventuality I found this figure rummaging through the PCCillin figure boxes of a comics store in Bordeaux :)
However this was the only one I could find, so if any French people know of their whereabouts and what to do me a favour and pick some up for me at the local store I'd be very grateful! -

Me and Michel (my charming travel companion for my trip to France) were delighted to meet you, Miranda, and to visit your "private museum" :)
-

@jan: thanx for your gift. I take good care of Michel: I just took him in France, hi hi. Joann Sfar is born in Nice, so Michel was happy to visit the home town of his "parent". Some pics here: http://m.flickr.com/photos/am...

Beautiful leaf ! But the brand on the face seems to me ridiculous... Too bad !
-

I quite like the Qee-as-a-form-of-advertising thing... and it's got a pretty leaf on it :D
-

Advertising yes. And there are a lot of people-as-a-form-of-advertising things : when you wear a t-shirt with a brand for example. And for me it's ridiculous too ! Leaf or not. ;o)

It's very difficult to know something about these toys. They have been made especially for the Taipei Toy Festival in 2006 ; each one 12x. Sometimes they are called "Bunee Taipei Festival", sometimes "Bunee Qee Fiesta", sometimes "Grassy"... I couldn't find any photo of mine so I had to put my own one (as you guessed...).

Which one is the "original version" ?
It's my third one and I love it too.
I would like to add this special pink touch on its nose : if someone knows what kind of painting I can use, thanks to tell me ! ;o)

http://tomopop.com/post.phtml... that one there. (Im pretty sure this was the original release colourway)
There are many versions! Last year I was at wonderfest and saw their stall, so many cats!!!

Unless my monitor needs to be severely calibrated (and it may), the one pictured on the Tomopop site is one of the Sepia Ver. Teke-chan cats. There were three different releases of the Sepia version (# 15, #16, and unknown #). The original Teke-chan (#1) has a white vinyl body with dark brown points. The sepia version Teke-chan has a cream body.
There are numerous versions of the cats, each with its own name and relationship to other cats. From what I can tell, it looks like they stopped numbering after 27.
The black cat above is #8. She was released as part of a mother, brother, sister (pink nose) trio.

The one I have is white vinyl. The ones in the image may be a cream?
The cat I have is Teka-chan (Name on the post card packaged with it, sweet draw string packaging)
I believe mine is a re-release as I got it last year and its bell is smaller than images I have seen of its original release.

Thank you igrrl for your precious informations ! It's difficult to find something about these cats. Do you know how many cats of each color exist ?

I really want the ninja one! I think it was released at the wonderfest I went to but had to limit my spending as it was the start of my trip :P

Hi Miranda, Yes, it's difficult to find information about these cats. Godzilla-ya's never been forthcoming about production numbers but because they are made by US Toys it's safe to assume that the numbers are low. Thankfully there have been several re-releases but it's mostly the main characters: Teke-chan, Rana, or Suzunosuke.

I've been looking for information on Godzilla ya Canico for the past couple of years but I haven't found anything, so any info would be much appreciated! I bought this one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/...) from Lulubell last year, can anyone tell me what the official name is?

I just bought a version with pink nose, but mine has a touch of pink under the mouth. Is it the same one, or another version ? Or does Canico play with us ? ;o)
