So, when threeA releases this Metal Gear Rex, will it be shunned because its from a video game?

Sure..

I know that, that's not going to happen. I was being scarcastic to try and prove that just because something is character based doesn't mean that it shouldnt be on the site.

Big Boss is easily the greatest MG character but I would love to see a good Solid Snake get produced...are you familiar with www.Diesnake.com ?

Diesnake is one of the best Metal Gear collector sites out there and the guy that runs it should win a medal...

and the Medicom VCD's

Yeah, its really an awesome figure! Digging the Kubricks too!

I got the Kubrick version of this dude. I have the whole first series of the Kubrick Metal gear 20th anniversary releases. They are neat :)
-

If I ever get around to it I want to add the 20th Ann. collection to the data base. I love Medicom. How much did this end up costing you? If you don't mind me asking.
-
Asking me about the kubricks? I cant remember how much they cost me. I have one of the chase figures, can't remember what one... I left it in its box which is in another box packed away.

I was actually asking Ral about this RAH figure. Next time I'll specify. I have the basic set of 5 but I can never find a chase with a price thats suitable for a clear piece of plastic. I did drop a pretty good amount on the Raiden figure from the MGS:2 series, but I feel like that was money well spent because it actually had detail.

Hi Genco, I paid for about USD$240 which is reasonably higher than retail considering its rarity. Bought it from a local video game store. I've seen these go for bout 300 on the bay, the re-issues are going at close to retail. I read the difference is just decals from the box.
-
What I read - This limited edition of 500 ones have a 'Wonderfest Camo Limited Edition' decal on the box, they are said to be sold out within 15mins or so at Wonderfest 2005. Re-issues are released in 2010, boxes have the same artworks, just missing the decals.
-

I was thinking about getting the one from BBTS...I've never really been very picky about the whole re-issue deal but I thought BBTS had the originals.
-
Yup, its actually a good deal, considering its 17000 yen retail. Just that I went for the limited issue one bcos I was at Wonder Festival back then & missed it.
-
I'll take that into consideration...If I have any cash to spare I'll definantly take you up on that. Is it sealed or unsealed?
-
Its unsealed, its jus tape at the top & bottom of the box. Makes no diff in values for Medicom RAH (Diesnake.com has this in detail) cos you couldn't tell even if I taped back up. I took it out to display in a glass showcase so expect mint dust free condition. And read Medicom RAH maintenance that its no good for the rubber suit placing it in the box due to moisture & stuffs which will damage the suit in the long run. Let me know.

Would either of you be interested in a basic set of MGS:2 Kubricks? I don't have any spare chase figures so it would only be:
Solid Snake
Revolver Ocelot
Olga Gurlukovich
Otacon
Woodland Gurlukovich Soldier
Tiger Stripe Gurlukovich Soldier
It's a $75 set and they are all still sealed in the clear plastic bags, no boxes. I'm down to trade or sell.

Kinda ashamed but the only Fulcraim I own is the Memory of Forest. Zinc has one of the Old Lantern versions set aside for me when I scrape the cash together but other than that I only have the one. Le Sad...

What would it take to get an AFI All Hallows E.P. custom figure?

If you email the artist you're interested in doing the work for you and discuss it with them. Different customisers work and charge in different ways so it depends on who you're talking to.

I think GencoFett is asking how much YOU would charge him for a custom figure based of that E.P. Art JonPaul :)

I'm confused by the implication that all ninja turtles wear red. Otherwise, these are cute.

The original turtles in the comic all wore red masks. Blue, orange, and purple were added for the cartoon.
-
Yeah, that was to eliminate confusion when kids were trying to figure out who was who...red has always been the original color...

Awesome! Thanks for the info! I suspected I was missing something.

It's not an "action figure" it's a "doll"...

flip - I don't think it's that strange - we can rationalize paying a lot for what we would consider art because we were taught art as a high market price. Personally it's easier for me to shell out the dough when I know the money goes directly to an artist rather then a corporation.

personally, besides my designer toys I have some action figures and assorted comic book and animation character toys, and some sculptures - Batman, Superman, and Weta LOTR stuff.
