completeists go crazy :)
I like Dok A's stuff, but this particular design I'm not crazy about -
-
I like Dok's figures, and I like this particular dunny, but no way I'm paying over $100 for it!
-
Wow people complain about the price of some really good figures but then this little thing sells for that much! I really don't get the toy market at times.
-
HOLY SH*T $180 for a 3" dunny, don't think i'd ever consider paying that.....

One of the best things about toy collecting is rarity/ limited editions. Makes you feel special knowing you're one of 25 in da world!
This particular toy is THE most wanted.....in da world!
$180 is the price, pay it - or leave it! -
-
100% agreed, was more thinking out loud about dunny's! not bitchin' they're worth exactly as much as someone is willing to pay & yup it does give a warm fuzzy to know you have one of a very small run.

It sold pretty quick after i put it up.
Biggest problem with these things is I always feel kinda bad when listing them on the webshop for prices like this but I know that when people buy it for €100 within 15 minutes it's on Ebay for €150 :( -
-

never feel bad ;)

Hi, I look for Rupture figure to my collectIon, thanks for your offers ,)
-
I grudgingly sold it for $300 on eBay this week. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayIS...
-
$300,- is way overpriced. Silly that people are willing to spend so much money. Glad you didn't put it up there for that price!

I heard this never went into production??
-
Sadly, no :(
There were 4 orange (The Giver of Fire) and 2 blue (The Giver of Ice) prototypes available at the Andrew's Burning Desire show. As far as I know, these Givers weren't produced because of some QA issues. -

Great toy! There was a 20" dunny customized by Andrew Bell at the NY Kidrobot that used the Giver's arms. Very nice, but out of my range at the time at USD 2,000!

Only 4? Not fair!
-
I agree! The Giver of Fire is awesome! Too bad it wasn't released...
-
Why wasn't it released, the financial crisis!? =1
-
i am curious, too! 4 is a weird limitation...can you give us more info VADIM, why this awesome colorway was not released?
-
I remember reading somewhere there were some QC issues with the final production figures. But I'm really not sure about it...
Perhaps Andrew himself could tell us why The Giver of Fire wasn't released.
And here's few posts on Vinyl Pulse about a design and production process of the Giver - http://www.vinylpulse.com/the... -
14 years ago
Interesting. That link also mentions a blue freezer burn edition.
-
Yes, there's also a 'The Giver of Fire: Freezer Burn' edition - http://rotocasted.com/toy/3456/
-
For those asking, yes it was a QC issue. Upon delivery we discovered the flames on the front were poorly done (unlike our approved sample) so I canceled the release. I actually still have a few boxes of them that I kept for a possible hand-finish customized release! Many blues were sacrificed to become the DIY edition.

@deadzebra: I just found out about your studio sale. those resin zlicks are exciting. good luck!

@deadzebra: that sounds sooooo sad and disappointing!!!! but i am glad to hear, you still have a few of this colorway to work on in the future!
-

Damn, I still wish this had been released! The Giver Of figures are like a dark trinity of death, disease and destruction...
