Is this thing really belong here?... it look more like a regular toy then a designer toy.
This is one step from posting MacDonald happy meal toys. -

Well its the yellow submarine from the Beatles song right? Perhaps its artistic origins give it some right to be here? I wouldn't add it to my collection, but I'm not a Beatles fan. Though the quality doesn't look that great from this photo..*shrug* I think it -may- be questionable, but not one step away from McDonald's toys.

I'm not a huge fan but I know the history of the band and it's designs, but still I think it's a wind-up music memorabilia toy more then a designer toy.
The porpoise of this toy (as it seems) is to be play with and not to be "admired" as a piece of art, I think it's plastic not vinyl and the quality (again as it seems) is not high and more fit to a child mess produced "made in China" toy. -

There was bunch of mainstream toys added recently.
Most of them are not fit into designer vinyl genre, but most of them are amazing pieces aesthetically.
I changed the type to Character toy — http://rotocasted.com/library... />I think it's good to have it here. -

OK you're the boss :+)
I just hope it wont be a precedent for thing to come (Mac's like I've mentioned) or maybe toys are toys?... gray area here we come. -

Toys are toys, but action figures have to go. :)

There are lots of action figures on here that's for sure, especially Japanese mass produced toys. its not a "designer toy" just because it's not in the mainstream stores where you live

Are there any guidelines on what toys you want and what toys you don't want here? I have a lot of toys that are lovely, but don't fall within the category of designer vinyl and I'm not sure if I should add them or not.

@larzor: No not yet. At this moment we're adding everything that people would collect with their vinyl. Some time in 2011 we will split the website to several directories.

I used to have the original version of this when i was a child. It was made from die-cast metal, wasn't a wind up but a push a long toy.
The periscopes revolved when you pushed it along, and two hatches could open up with the Beatles popping their heads up :)
Thanks Sergey for the info on Heinz Edelmann, I didnt know his history, very interesting! :) -

I can see Saddam Hussein, Kim Jong Il(?) and Bin Laden... are the others meant to be Tony Blair and George Bush?

almost a dupe:
http://rotocasted.com/toy/5528/
actually, image 5528 is the chase variant (1 of 3) but the info is almost the same (correct year is 2006) -
14 years ago
You've confused me.
-
oops, sorry. I'll try again: 1 out of 3 "Your Momma" is a chase variant and includes the baby in the belly (the image of the 5528 entry). So, all "Your Momma"s look like the image above, but just the chase variants have the baby inside.
-
Right, I get you, I also Googled it, but as the picture doesn't show the baby chase, then surely it could be classed as a dupe?

yeap, it can be classified as a dupe, I am not arguing :-)
maybe we should have both photos (this one- the standard, and the other one- the chase) for a single entry? -

Agreed :)
-

So are you saying that some of these came without a baby in it??

I couldn't be happier. No picture does justice to how it looks in person. They all seem to distort the tentacles to me but they really are perfectly proportioned to the rest of the piece. Looking forward to more great customs from 84 Tigers!!
