congrats! it is uber-awesome! I watched that eBay listing, but couldn't do it :-( however, I am glad it went to a great home- if I am not wrong, you have all the regular size ones?

Yes, got it for the initial price. I was amazed no one else bid on it! I guess most people thought it was the regular size. Yes, I have the full set of nine "mini" Squires (and a few extras I had got before I bought the whole set).

Around three years. I bought the bulk of my collection in a frenzy in the first two years. Now I've been buying mostly rare toys by my favorite artists and the odd toy from other artists.

I have a little question:
A few days ago, I this guy and upon arrival, I noticed the little one has a crack in his chest.
I'd rather not talk about refunds and stuff, I want to think positive, believe the guy that it was perfect when he send it and repair my newest addition of the family.
The item is made of fiberglass and the crack is about 6 inch long. It's not a large crack but pretty long and no color has been chipped off.
Does anybody have an idea how I can repair this myself? Fill it up, sandpaper it, recolor it,... Please, any information would be helpful!
Thanks in advance and hopefully someone here is the next MacGyver of toyreparing!
Feel free to email me at federico@honestcrooks.be if you have any thoughts about this!

honest- id send it back.. you can fix it and use clay or a filler, as well as color match the paint, but its a lot easier said than done.. unless if you restore or fix things like this on the usual, id send em back. =/

if the price was quite good or a bargain, i would keep it. If you paid a top price for the squire, i would send it back as well.
You will always see the squire as a damaged or 'fixed' toy. Always!
The chances to fix it as 'brand new' or new are quite slim. You have to fill it, sand it, repaint it which costs a lot of time and money! Unless you want to do some free hand painting on the squire :-p.
I doubt you will have the same glossy look and detail in the end. So save yourself all the hustle and ship it back. Would you buy the same squire from a seller if you knew it's a fixed and repainted one?

unless you got it for so cheap, that you cant see a point in returning it to get your money back, id defo send it back.. if you try to 'restore' it yourself, chances are it will come out less than perfect and it will hurt the overall value of the piece, by a lot. (kinda sorta just said what middleclass said :P)
on the other hand, if you dont mind non matching paint (or you could just repaint the whole thing a similar blue), go for it.. like i said, id return it though.. hu8o paid 800 for his, so im assuming you paid somewhere around there.. not cheap enough to receive as broken and fix it yourself.

Thank you all for your thoughts!
Well, I'm not the guy who buys toys for making profit, so I think I'll be the last owner this guy will ever have (at least if nothing serious happens - knock on wood)
I asked around and I know someone who can scan a color, get the right colorcode and make that precise color. Also, I have some friends who are in the "oldtimer car" business so they could refill it an airbrush it. I don't know if you guys have seen this toy in real life, but its far from smooth and perfectly painted. :D So my guess, it will be ok in the end.
For the price question: I got it cheaper than 800 so I don't mind paying up a bit to restore this little guy :-)
I'll let you guys know what the outcome is and thanks again for your thoughts!!

If you're going to paint it, paint it in the shadow version, much rarer (only 10), and easier to paint (all black with red eyes). ;-)

That would be mean, wouldn't it hu8o? ;-)
If I'm not going to find the exact color of this thing, I might paint it "skin color" with brown or blond hair. Let's say, make a little boy out of it :D
Quick photoshop of what it may look like... :D

"Squire is the pig-boy creature in the image. I first saw Squire in an old ad from the 1930s back in my teens, and then again, about a couple of years ago, on a concert flyer. The artist of the concert flyer had basically taken this advertisement from the 1930's and re-appropriated it. Originally, the little pig-boy character advertised baker's yeast: the implication of the ad was that this yeast made folks healthy and 'plump'...like a little hog.
Well, I saw possibilities in this character. I 'named' him, made a few changes to his appearance, and began constructing a story around him..." - Jermaine Rogers

@HonestCrooks:
Do you have a favorite color?
Here is one idea for enhance of the crazy image )))

p.s. I think a dark color will not spoil the toy.
