this is, as you can see, part two in a series of mini toys from Siu. the first one was not produced by KR but was a capsule toy in Japan - http://rotocasted.com/toy/708...
I think Sony made them. the first series had stronger designs.

the designs are mini versions of Siu's larger speaker figure designs, of which I think this is the most famous - http://rotocasted.com/toy/911...

Hmmm... looks a lot like the Sun Tower by Taro Okamoto. It was built for the 1970 world exposition in Osaka.

If the series looked more organic like this example and there wasn't the annoying "appliance" conceit, these would be pretty cool.
