while I do think this is tounge-in-cheek, I agree this is a very pretentious move from Kaws. I kind of think of him as a businessman more then an artist in a way, and I don't like it.
im a big kaws fan (check my collection) but ive skipped snoopy , tweety and now this . just going to get older pieces for now and hopefully he saves the brand in the future as he is de-valuing my collection and his name he built with these half arsed releases

It's refers to a statue of Walt Disney and Mickey, called "Partners", placed in Disneyland!
Not a wonderful toy, but a cool artistic move, in my opinion. Quite pretentious!
