Hey jazzydan! what's your overall opinion on these Dudebox toys? been hearing they're not really vinyl, more like an ABS plastic? This design is awesome and the 7.5"s look like good value for money
No way near Kidrobot ! The applications are not that great and the vinyl doesn't look too spliffy yet (not all kidrobot products are great either) and also the price is half of Kidrobot people still aren't buying them. Opposed to the Kidrobto dunny.
I think the lack of Big Name artists is the current problem for them and the most recent co-op with Ron English is not that great either, hopefully this is just the stuff a new producer has, but so far Dudebox is not the "new Kidrobot" which they hope to become IMO
@MInty: "Big name" you mean overheated kidrobot roster? Do you really need more Sket1 painted platforms? :) I personally don't like DB figure shapes, but designs are pretty fresh and it's good to see new names.
Well... not Sket or Mad, but a guy like Jled, Kronk, Huck or Chueh will bring lot's of attention to your product. And it's nice when they try out with new artists but the main public will rather buy a Huck Gee Dudebox then a Mark Gmehling Dudebox...
Just saying from a marketing/promotion perspective and to build a brand I would rather get a few "hot artists" first and then variation with the lesser known artists. Also when you do a design with a guy like ron english don't say yes to the first design he makes, I think I'll be having his Dinosaur egg design for a long long time in stock !

They're vinyl shrubs, near grade to kidrobot in my opinion. Personally, I prefer Dudebox to Kidrobot.

Make it simple Joel. "Starting a toy brand? Bring Kozik" :)
