Hey Jerm - you can still order these from the Amos japan store - http://www.amostoystore.jp/ it's not cheap with the shipping (EMS only) and you have to struggle with some Japanese (I google translated each entry) and then you have to wait for confirmation and shipping qoutes but they do deliver internationally. I just got my red one yesterday and it's awesome.
I checked Amos Japan just now, but I only see red available for the Generic Character toy. Odd because the other characters aren't even listed as sold out; they're just not there...
You are all extremely bad influences and good friends :) I followed Lordsketch's link and advice above. It seems I hadn't pulled down the drop-down menu, where all colors appear to still be available. I went ahead and placed my order for the green one. I'm now awaiting the Amos Japan confirmation and Paypal invoice. This feels like owning a part of history somehow, and someday I'll get around to writing a blog post about it! Thanks guys!

I think this is a very special release - part toy, part conceptual art and it straddles firmly the line between toy and art
