hey, can you guys help me out?
this is up for pre-order internationally here - http://www.bearbrick.com/eart... />I sent the form and I can't figure out if I just paypal the money right away (I get an automated response with a copy of the form) or am I supposed to wait for further e-mails...?
I have no money but this is one of a few toys I have to get this year. love it so much!

after reading the instructions, it seems that you just make the payment (adding the shipping cost for your area). I think you better paypal the money, to secure your pre-order (and in case there is something wrong, they will refund you- it is the official site, not an obscure one, so it should be reliable)

i just found this and was blown away by the colorway...rotofugi described it like this:
mongolion with dual-layer clear red over white vinyl, plus a darker red paint rub
sounds like quite a bit of work, they put in the coloring of that little guy -

the first one of the mongolions, which really got my attention was the GID version with the clear vinyl and white poured inside (the one, you actually have) ;)
then i just saw this one and fell in love..i needed to get him. :D

It seems to be in caramel... Is it more red and less orange in reality ? Or not ?

miranda, it is clear red vinyl over white vinyl and on top of that a darker red paint, which lets it appear red and orange together.
i wrote both colors there, but only one is allowed...
but i will let you know, how it appears in real life, when i have my package. should be here in a few days :) -

Soooooooooo...i just picked up the package, unwrapped this little guy and took a very close look at him. he is unbelievable pretty and damn well sculpted!
to the COLOR: the official release picture of this red jade mongolion lets him appear orange or caramel, like you said, Miranda... in real life, he appears in a candy like, cherry RED ( under a light bulb though)
i will take a picture of him tomorrow in sunlight and post you guys a link, so you can see the actual color :) -

Anythig Metal Gear related is considered to be collectable. Ages 15+. and limited to 2000 plus its hella expensive. Play the game and you'll have a new perspective on GA-KO. -

I consider "designer toys" to be modern day porcelain statues that are designed and developed to be about the creation of a toy, with the mentality of being a display piece. Not toys based off of property licenses of TV, movies, cartoons, games or any other medium that came before the continued sales of their properties through the toy medium.
In regards to whats on the site, I don't think there can ever be 100% rules for what can or can't be uploaded but seeing toys created from very big properties shouldn't be on here. -

Although this functions as a clock, I actually display this with my other Metal Gear toys in a display case without batteries inside the clock. ;)
I consider this more of a toy than a clock. Since there is the development of a section of this site for toys based off of other IPs, I think we should leave all movie, game, etc based toys on the site until the function to categorize them into this other 'non-designer toy' is implemented. :) -

flip - I don't think it's that strange - we can rationalize paying a lot for what we would consider art because we were taught art as a high market price. Personally it's easier for me to shell out the dough when I know the money goes directly to an artist rather then a corporation.
