Akiyoshi Chino is the artist for the shape. Chris Squink only did the custom. It should be said in the description, I think...

Miranda, when something is designated as a custom, the artist listed is the customizer. You can see there is a "platform" tab which links to all uses of the form and where people can see the original artist :)

or at least it's supposed to...
-
i think once the type is custom then its ok to list artist as tge person who did the custom work, ppl can easily check the platform to find out more info.
-
@lordsketch SNAP!!!
-
@lordsketch : I saw you could look for the original artist by the platform. But I don't think it's "legitimate" to only read the customizer's name, that's all... ;o)

huh. I was going in to be all righteous about shoes being the limit in this database, and it turns out to be a collectible :D
-
mighty pricey too i believe
-
"The ceramic replica goes for 88 USD" - so not that horribly pricey, but still hard to obtain :)
Some people are also selling on Ebay sets with the ceramic replica and a pin, that were only sold in the main event. The sets seem to be going for about 300$.

Oh, that is from that old song with Serge Gainsbourg et Jane Birkin!
Moi non plus! What does that mean? Mine no longer?? -
13 years ago
Haha ! From Gainsbourg, it's a game with words : it means nothing at all ! (because it isn't grammatically correct) From me it was just a joke !!!
"Moi non plus" means "Me too" after a negative sentence ; example : "- J'aime Rotocasted - Moi aussi. - Je n'aime pas les branleurs. - Moi non plus." ;o) -

thanks! kaws is a zillionaire, and he knows about bootlegs and doesnt give a shit. plus, kaws' best work rips off existing stuff: mickey mouse, smurfs, spongebob etc. he's the bootlegger.

the strangest thing that labioligy make is the kurf? if kaws were to release one would it be a bootleg of their unlisenced interpretation of his kurf paintings!!!
-

its kinda mad, even the kaws bootlegs are kinda out of my budget!!
-

Jan: whose comment did you refer as "hating"?
The website sells fakes with high prices and if I object to that, I don't see myself hating :) Just critizing. I don't myself dig Kaws that much, but this sort of thing is ridicilous. -
13 years ago
there were posts from another user J, (kubrik i think) dont think jan was talking about u or anything we can now see.
-
Ok, thought about the possibility of that earlier.
Just had to make sure, because I have no interest to hate on anything over here. -
13 years ago
the 'hating' comment was intended for the user who commented before J_Walrus.. the user said I was an idiot putting this toy in my wish list. he tried to slam me, and I smacked him with knowledge
-
i think if these and the other stuff they make was priced appropriately (they are bootlegs after all) i would consider getting them
-
This bootleg is double the size of the original piece. You don't buy this piece to claim you have the real deal, you buy this piece because you love the figure but don't want to pay the full flipperprice for the original.
And I think too, Kaws is a bit of a copycat... Don't get me wrong, I love his work, I really do... I just think that it's easy moneymaking to use already established figures and just put the bones and mickeyhands on everything... Imo, I respect more a brand like Coarse, completely original, great quality and the sensation of opening a box of False Friends can only be known if you have done it yourself... -

Im hating, bottlegs suck

Do you know how many vintage Star Wars toys you can buy for $200? You could make a whole army of Stormtroopers.
-

Bit rich for my blood this month. Fair price though £42 each, and knowing the SSL cheap or free postage.
I like them, but don't love them, so I don't feel to bad.
But I'm certain if they are still available on payday I will grab a set.
Hopefully they will hang around for a little while, as its a large run and hefty price tag. -
13 years ago
yup, $7 postage and i guess being outside the states really does make his releases more affordable to us at the moment (the exchange rate when buying from US rocks hard for me atm)
-
Now available to buy solo
-

Bummer, I was gonna grab a three pack on Friday. No way I'm paying the combined cost of all 3!
-

according to this : http://www.flickr.com/photos/... quantity would be 60 not 50 as announced by SL, 10 sets held back?
-
Can't wait to see him on TV. Bet the prices of his stuff sky rocket even more after that.
-
yup, it's going to be funny alright, will it air in the UK? won't be here so im gonna have to DL. i guess it's possible he did well in the show too, been seeing the WINNING hastag flashed about and theres the last minute show at munky king tomorrow.
-
Not sure, really wanna see it somehow. Has it been aired in the US? Anyone got a torrent?
-
Has anyone uploaded the trailer with him in it yet to torrent or youtube?
All the online videos on the site are US only :/ -
13 years ago
Trailer here: http://www.tv.com/news/watch-... />@jazzydan; it starts on wednesday of next week, im sure torrents will pop up
-
trailer seems to have been locked out of everywhere in the UK, odd.
-
Yeah, can't watch it in AUS either. Its locked to US I think
-
Ah, you know what, I run firefox with modify headers displaying the header 12.13.14.15 which tricks lots of sites (FOX, ABC, NBC) into thinking you're in the states, probably what allowed me to watch the trailer, sorry :) you guys could google how to and then add in modify headers though
-
Brilliant tip Quiche! Thanks for that!
-
WILD! Now are there other values for other countries? My bro wants to watch Australian only videos in Japan.
Edit: With the headers on, I cant watch any local restricted videos. So there must be header values for Australia! To google I go -
13 years ago
@CoMus for watching home locked just turn it to disabled instead of loading an Aussie IP! not tried for anything else and most of the web focuses on breaking american tv!

I bought them from Taobao. It's like chinese ebay, so just search for kaws and you should find a bunch of them. I bought them through the agent Yoybuy (since I don't know chinese and most Taobao-sellers don't ship to Sweden).
Hope this helps! :)

Yeah, it hasn't really caught on in Sweden. I think you might find some overpriced and not-so-interesting stuff in some clothing stores, but I feel that the internet provides me with most of what I need. I'd love the opportunity to ogle stuff that's out of my price range, though…

misterquiche, I don't really think it's that bad. I just think about what the toy is worth for me and add the costs up. Sometimes the shipping is outrageous, but from eBay and some online shops it's fairly reasonable.
I would love for the opportunity to visit irl shops dedicated to vinyl toys though. Must be like going to an awesome museum.

yeah the feeling of being able to browse a store is sooooo nice, i used to find things that when seen online i thought meh, but once seen in person were must haves. that may be what makes it more upsetting for me!!! If you're ever knockin round Stockholm n want to meet up n chat toys, just holler ;)
