Let me know if you have one for sale, or if you know anyone who would be willing to part with it.
-
Same here! I would love to get my hands on one.
-
Do you have the blue version? I recently managed to get my hands on one, and it's awesome! The black one looks even better!
-
I don't :( I wish I did. Lucky you on getting a blue version. I'm still on the lookout!

What's the price on this bad boy and the blue one?
I know someone who sells a blue but I think the price is a bit steep :) -
12 years ago
^ how much is he or she asking?
-
a bit over € 1k shipped to Belgium. (about $1.5k)
Seems they went up in value in a year :-S Is this a fair price? -
12 years ago
I'd say it's a fair price. There are only 30 of those and they are hand-painted. And you may not have another chance is this lifetime!
-

It's a clock, fo' sho'. Same with the bookends. We really need to have some sort of restrictions on what can be added to the library.
-
Sorry duders. Couldn't help myself.
-
If I owned this clock I would carry it around with me for 24 hours and stay awake through the night in order to see all the combinations of pictures. But just for the first day.
-
Tristan, what if you missed something?
-
The thought hadn't occurred to me, but it's totally possible. 3am to 6am would be a true test of willpower. I'd have to do something that keeps me awake, but not too interested, or I might miss a minute!
My consolation and growing regret is that I will never own this clock. -
13 years ago
Can't something be both a toy and a clock at the same time? This, however, is just a picture flipper. It doesn't have any toy qualities as far as I can see…
-
I don't see what the big deal is...I mean, Isn't this a site for "Art/Designer Toys"?
Art-The product or process of deliberately arranging items in a way that influences and affects one or more of the senses, emotions, and intellect.
Toy-A toy is any object that can be used for play. Toys are usually associated with children and pets. Playing with toys is training the young for their social role. Many items are designed to serve as toys, but goods produced for other purposes can also be used.
Please correct me if im wrong, but if I wanna play with a clock then it becomes a toy... -
13 years ago
This is awesome BTW...
-
Designer - A designer is an agent that "specifies the structural properties of a design object"
Art + Design + Toy = An object used for play, developed through specification of the structural properties arranged in a way that influences and affects one or more of the senses, emotions, and intellect.
A designer toy is created by a designer, developing a piece of art (not re-creating a piece from other properties) for the purposes of play.
Still, thats very broad and I wouldn't consider a clock a designer toy or even a toy. -
13 years ago
Are we not all adults here? This is an endless argument. Not everything can be categorized because of different opinions.
-
Why play the adult card? I was essentially agreeing with you. Categorisations are too broad for any definition.
-
I'm not disagreeing, but alot of people are crying over clocks...
-
Hahha time :P
Yeah, this is still a clock... -
lol...LoneCub has 200+ figures in his collection and you guys want to crucify the guy for wanting to share the existance of his clock?...You're probably a fan of the Jersey Shore, huh?
-
There are lots of sites that are for general collecting but Rotocasted about having a place that is for cataloguing toys created for the purpose of art/design.
This is a clock, it may have a character on it but it isn't a toy. -
13 years ago
If you take this site that seriously, you need therapy...
-
? I am truly confused by this direction you (GencoFett) are taking with what is being discussed.
The discussion seems to be about what is a designer toy for categorisation purposes for the site. You are making your own valid claims but to turn around and say people need therapy because they are also adding their opinions is ludicrous. -
13 years ago
It's just turned into a game at this point...that wasnt directed at you CoMus
-
oh, please continue :P
-
I find it amusing that people think that the site is in some sort of danger if someone post something that doesnt belong. It's gonna be users with attitudes that make the site take a turn for the worse. Items that don't belong can be deleted...
-
Its more of the general flood of recent entries that are on the edge of being okay. Then a line gets crossed with clock entries and people voice their opinions.
-
I understand that, but 3 clocks (1 of wich has been deleted) vs. 1300+ toys? Some people seriously need to chill. If Sergey doesn't want it on the site he'll get rid of it and I doubt that anyones opinion is gonna change that...
-
It seems that Sergey wants it to have as much community input as possible, that is how Web2.0 works. So having opinions on either side is needed.
-
This isn't the place to do it...Getsatisfaction.com is where everyone is supposed to post gripes, moans, and complaints
-
When I added this clock I thought "why not?".... There is a bunch of other Yoshitomo Nara stuff up, including the candy container and seeing as how that also isn't considered a toy I again thought "why not?" It's not a big deal to me either way if this stays up or if it comes down, so whomever is a mod here can do what they do.
Also I want to make sure that everyone knows that I have a complete positive outlook on this site and I in no way want this post to seem like I am complaining at all.
Have a good day to everyone. = ) -
I love clock
-
I assumed the clock got uploaded because Yoshitomo Nara is a beloved creator of awesome things. When I first saw the clock, my mouth fell open. I pass over more than half the toys on this site because I don't like them, but it's still a good place (and the only place I go) to see amazing things.

Does anyone know how much these are going to be?
-
From memory the resin ones were pretty steep, between $150 and $200?
-
Jeez. So, I think I've swiftly changed my mind. I don't want this toy now :P
-
I might be wrong, but I remember when the last ones were out, i was all like, ooo I might get one, then saw the price, and was like, yeah maybe not.
-
I think I want one, I can't make my mind up. All I know is that the website is teasing me. It now says 'later today' under the photo :) I just want to know how much they're actually going to be!
-
They went on sale. They were 50 Euros, and they've sold out. But that translates to £42, so that's still far too steep for a 3'' figure, even if it is a gorgeous resin Jumping Brain...
-
Not as dear as the previous ones, maybe they were larger. Still pretty steep though.
-
I've wanted one of the resin Jumping Brains for ages, preferably in green though I wouldn't have been choosy. Oh well...
-
Oh by the way is there anyone here from Australia? =)
-

Resin Jumping Brains are 3x5 inches ;)

£42 doesn't sound too bad for a handmade resin toy.Watch the YouTube video and see how much work goes into them!
But still, a lot of money for a toy :)

Dunny! What is it with these toys? Why are they so popular? Why don't I have a single one? Am I that bizarre and unorthodox toy collector?

they're probably not tasty enough :)
seriously though, we all have different tastes. I like Dunnys but not *crazy* about them. but there are a lot of cool designs on Dunnys.
personally my tastes has changed in the few years I've been collecting toys. I just recently started getting into Japanese vinyl and kaiju :)

@Toy-I'm with you on this,I only own one,and it's a paint job I really don't like.I like the basic shape, but then once you've seen it...
But then that's the interesting thing about toys and art in general, the diversity, and seeing what floats other people's boats. :)
But I do like a lot of the artwork on them :)

A Dunny was my first toy. I still collect them, but now only the designs I really like. No need to have full sets any longer.
