The picture came from the MAD store. If we have to start giving credit for all the production photography, it's going to be a long day. I'll get started on the Dunnies.

This is the first time I've heard of a secret figure, but I honestly kind of like the idea. Only real Dunny fans will even know this exists which makes it kind of cool. Plus I think the overall design is brilliant. The sculpts, the colors and the character of this guy, all look awesome!

I think the reason for this message board exclusivity is the fact that El Birro design/sculpt is based on a custom from Most Wanted 2 - a series curated by KR message board members

I can't believe I'm buying a Dunny! But I am. And I like it. Will be my first. Sad thing is that with international shipping and VAT we end at $48.08. And they don't accept Paypal. * damn, where's my credit card? *

I love that Kidrobot was able to keep this figure so secretive before it's release. When was the last time that's happened?
They also did a bang up job translating Walter's custom work into a production figure. I know they've messed with the Dunny's head sculpt numerous times, but what's great about this figure are the subtle changes. The face ears might be my favorite part (as weird as that sounds). -

They actually might end up at retailers anyway... not much will come to europe but what I "heard" is the distributors will get a limited supply for the shops here...
But i'm not making promises on Kidrobot items ever again.... so no pre-orders / reservations... sorry -

Has been said so much before but I do wanna comment again, don't blame a company like kidrobot (or lot's of times Mintyfresh) for high shipping people blame ALL the shipping services. We are not making money on the shipping fee and I for instant actually lose money on shipping to some countries just to not lose customers !
I'm currently looking into new options for shipping myself but it's not getting cheaper, let we all just agree once and for all shipping = high and there's nothing we can do about it !
Regarding the large box, that's just retarded especcially when you limit people to buy 2.... -
-
yeah my complaint about shipping isn't primarily about the cost, that was my decission to accept & living in Sweden I understand shipping costs a lot, the box however was easily big enough for 10 / 12 Dunnys, I felt this was mighty wasteful on KR's part & baffled me a little

I have shipped internationally for $10 - $15 many times (small packages, less than 2 lbs). Is it more expensive to ship packages within Europe than to ship from America to Europe?
-
-
im not sure on real costs, but it certainly varies wildly between the differenet american stores, I have found rotofugi to be consistently the cheapest american shipping to Sweden, usually $10, however circus posterus wanted $35 i think in shipping for one mini figure last time i checked. (not giving out here, just stating my experiences)

Are the packages including insurance and tracking ? because I can also send 50% cheaper without these options. Problem is that customers really love claiming their cash back when something "hasn't arrived" and paypal will refund them without any discussion without a trackingcode.
And i talked to many party's past week for a solution to the expensive shipping all around the world, one comapny does not make difference between 1 kg or 30 kg... fact is most of these parcel serivces are focussed on large amout of packages or pallet shipping, that's what they base price off... -
-
Lots of times shipping does not have anything to do with the size of the box but more so the weight. it wouldn't have been anymore or any less for kidrobot to change the size of that box. I think shipping all depends on the country that you live in. I have gotten camera equipment from Hong Kong and China and the shipping has been free. minty I have checked other stores in your country and the shipping was nowhere as much as yours. Maybe because you provide tracking and insurance I don't know. maybe you should just let the people choose and that is their problem if they don't get it. that can be your disclaimer. I have seen many eBay auctions that give you the choice but the choice is yours .

No, that $10-$15 didn't include insurance and tracking. If you're right about that 1kg/30kg problem, that seems like a market inefficiency. Surely some company can figure out how to ship small packages cheaply.
This is why so many great toy artists are European. It's easier to make your own toys than buy other people's. -
-
I ship to Europe all the time... because my wife's family is there. shipping from their was much cheaper some years back. but now it has dramatically changed. but some of the prices people are charging for shipping is not correct either. I still send packages all the time with no tracking and no insurance. I just shipped a EL panda to JPK with no tracking. some now and it ended up getting routed through India but it still made it to England. and the time was really not that long even with the problem. I just want to be given a choice whether I want tracking and insurance and maybe I can check a box that says this is at my own risk.

In the starting days of Mintyfresh we did offer the customer to choose with or without insurance / tracking. We did told the people it was at own risk and off course they all agree... until they don't get the package they paid €100 for.
9 out of 10 packages arrived safely but the ones that didn't got refunded by Paypal / Creditcard agencies for not providing a trackingcode and I could not prove the person actually ever got the package.
Even though I wish I could do this and I have to trust the system / people, past has proven me that I rather ship a few packages less because the people think the price is to high then lose multiple packages and money... just not worth the risk.
@GMT , What company is shipping cheper then us ? and what amounts are we talking ?
P.S. I actually just got a call from TNT they will revise my current contract (told them specific prices from DHL, DPD, Fedex etc. ) and next week I will know more. Not going to be major changes but still ! -
-
I have to look that up again .because I just researched that the other day and I will send that to you or you can check some other eBay auctions from your country but you still remain the Highest shipping ..when it comes to toys.
I don't want to make this a big blowup or anything it's nothing against you I just don't like the shipping prices. -

If there are people that really want to take the risk with the no insurance / tracking option I'm willing to ship packages to them for cheaper rates (only personal emails)
I just don't want the fuss after the package is delayed / not received / damaged, i'm too tired for that stuff and all those damn forms and claims again :D -

Hey People, so just received the documents and this is basically what it's going to be, there will be flat rates for Europe and Rest of the world for all packages below 2000 grams (4.4 lbs.)
1 - 999 gr. = €9,95 (EU) and €17,50 (World)
1000 - 1999 gr. = €12,50 (EU) and €19,95 (World)
everything higher then this will be the "old" rate but for 90% of Mintyfresh customers these fee's will be delicious :)
*Apologies edited the prices a bit -

I have this guy with a mallet in his right hand and nothing in his left.
Signed on the back and numbered 15/20.
He also came with a monkey friend in a green hat holding a bottle.
He's not listed here, does anyone know anything about him? :) -
-
you have the Artist Proof version(AP), limited to 20, Each will be numbered and signed. It will come with a hand sculpted mallet (each one made individually). Also Birro Hat comes pimped with a fancy bird feather (last minute upgrade not shown on some pictures), and the coolest thing! Birro comes with his trusty sidekick, "Monko" who has the most important job, to keep safe Birro's Beer while he kick ass. Monko is an original sculpt made specifically for the hardcore Birro fans who get this AP, resin casted, and hand painted for yours truly Chauskoskis. Will come inside a nice and hard wood box (also the original KR box.... original price was 105$

Actually we should leave the Manufacturer field empty when it's a custom. This is not a production piece!
If you want to see who manufactured the platform for the custom, you can just click on the platform tag and find one of the production pieces.
It's a bit annoying that customs show up when you look for stuff Gargamel has produced. -
-

Disagree. It's still the same platform/manufacturer no matter who painted it.

Ok, you two old grumpy naysayers ;) Answer me this one then:
Why did someone at some time choose to seperate customs from production pieces, and hide them in a 'secret' place?
If your illogical reasoning would make any sence ALL 21 000+ toys in our library should be on the front page, right? -

hahahaaa, now i see where all this started from dan! although i do agree if your making a custom, the platform label should be there, you gotta give credit to the person who made the toy first & came up with the idea... because after alll, if the pocket smogun platform was never released, there would never be this custom!
-
... the other reason why it really helps to have the platform label there too is if i see a custom i like/want and have no idea what the platform is, i just go look at the platform and click it and see the production toys, because chances are, i will want those too!
(btw, if you click on a platform and see all the production pieces and customs, it usually isnt hard to tell whats a custom and whats not just by looking at it)
