A quick google & this is why he's angry: As most of the Smurfs gather to work on the bridge crossing the river in the forest, Papa Smurf spots one of them dozing off and sends him into the forest to cut some logs. As he works on chopping down his first tree, that Smurf gets stung by a black fly that turns his skin jet black, drives him insane and reduces his vocabulary to the single word "gnap!"

I think there are some blank 8-inchers, but legit ones are pretty rare. But no blank 3-inchers were ever released. I guess you could snatch them from the factory.

They're not all white. Some of them are pink or blue or black or whatever made sense for the paint job. Sometimes the head and body are different colors.

So, what do you think of this figure?
I think it's not true to Gary's painting(s) of Toby. The eyes are too close to each other, the nose is not curved, and lips look kinda weird...
Just check out a photo of plush Toby, and see how different it looks from this vinyl Toby - http://farm1.static.flickr.co... />I'm a fan of Baseman's art, especially his toys, but I'm really on the fence about this one.

The small one is also not 100% accurate, but looks more like the original, and small differences are understandable, because it's a mini-figure. But "High Priest of Toby" is way off.
