"Childhood nostalgia" isn't normally what I think of with Keyes. It's all about tension and conflicting elements. I think it doesn't work as sculpture because some detail is lost and his art depends a lot on realism. Plus the water looks stupid.

I think the elephant bothers me more than the water. The animals in his prints look so life like, yet the elephant in this sculpt just doesn't look right. Maybe its the sculpting/sculptor thats the issue.

Anyone else finding these guys impossible to display? Or am I being even more retarded than usual?
They don't seem to balance or stand.
And they don't seem to bend their legs at the hip, so you can't put them in to a seated position.
