Oh so original! /sarcasm

Why all the Jled hate lately? Not original? Uhh, how many 10" stackable wood pieces do you own??? I mean, un-original would be making a mold, then selling it in 14 different colors/patterns like, like uhhh, Erik Scarecrow, or Andrew Bell. At least when Joe makes something, he does maybe a handful of color ways, all fairly classic and expected, and moves on. His style is what comes through like a GOOD artist, not a copy machine! With mutant bunny, we see him paying tribute to his own classic first piece, coming up with all sorts of unique ways to present it. I have much respect for Joe's art and admire him for keeping his art current and fresh, and not just churning the molds! Go hate elsewhere!

I love this piece. His best work in a long time.

A mere opinion, we're all entitled to them!
-

well opinion or not, At least 20 artists comes to my mind when I think at "boring toys with the same goddamn design again and again"
Jled is not on the list: there's a whole canyon wide difference between having a well established and recognizable style and having one idea and making endless copy of it over the years, and these are facts not opinion, period. -

One artist comes to mind when I think "boring toys with the same design again and again," and that's Joe Ledbetter. And that's an opinion, not a fact, comma.

I don't think this toy is boring, as such. I do find Ledbetter's style quite boring at this point

So just to note, my Burger Bunny arrived this weekend. The size and idea are pretty cool. However, the production leaves much to be desired. It's wood, and in several places the grain and wood dents show through where the paint is too thin. Mine has a fair amount of what look like dirty scuff marks too, where it was handled during production maybe. I think it's just cheaper wood really. However for $400 one would think the wood would be high end and the paint would be finished with some poly, yet this isn't the case.

Oh well I get all the sarcarsm except I was not arguing on the opinions matter but the "boring to some" vs. "talentless artist" issue, I pointed a finger at the moon and I see how many find easier to discuss the finger, but nevermind, feel free to come here and rant at Joe's work.

I pulled the Chase! Well happy, must be birthday karma. Anyone know what the ratio was?
-
there seems to be 4 owners for this and 6 for the other version, so maybe as low as 2/5?

My inner statistician says that's too small of a sample size.
-
-

There were very few. Less than 1/5 I believe.

-

Loving the tree look - Always a fan of simple paint application/colour change drastically changing toys.
Whats up with the S7 rage? -

Should these be 2 separate listings?
Second time this year I have placed a big order with Super7, only to get an email 3 weeks later, telling me that one of the items is no longer in stock, so they have refunded that item, and shipped the rest!
1) why 3 weeks?
2) its still instock on the website
3) It was part of a set, now I'm missing one
4) why not email me first with some options
I'm always disappointed by Super7's customer service! -

"Should these be 2 separate listings?"
Naturally! I was just uploading them for the novelty. We'll split 'em later! :)
"no longer in stock" ?
He, I got that quote from Lulubell's like twice this year. I don't get it really, how big a business are they running? Still, Amy is the sweetest online seller I've encountered ...online.
As far as S7 goes my only complaint is/ was their international shipping costs. But they have added the 'hold for later' option to save $
Oh, and 2) & 3) ? That hurts, man! Sorry for you Dan :(
Edit: Well, there was one incident actually with S7 I didn't like. I bought two minis from them within a week - I suffer from the buying trigger finger - did pay shipping twice, but they shipped it together.
$35 out the window! -
-
I can tell you that S7 is doing his best to be as fast as possible with all the orders.
You guys can't even imagine how busy they are! (And I do know what I'm talking about).
If you really have a problem with an order, just call them, they will fix it quickly. Emails can be lost so easily when you receive more than two hundreds of them each days. -
13 years ago
They really should hire more staff if that's the case.
Bad publicity in such small circles is really bad and gets around really fast.
Improving customer service is always a good idea and for a customer a need for a overseas call isn't really a option nowadays. At least it really shouldn't be. -
13 years ago
I agree with Mr_Walrus, if you are that busy, you should be taking on more staff, being busy isn't a good excuse for poor customer service, especially with their extortionate international shipping!
Just call them, how about them calling or emailing me, before making decisions on my behalf. Another example of shoddy customer service. -

Wow Jan, $35 for one mini? I could have it shipped to me, then ship it to you and add $10 for my trouble and still come in under that.

Why is this in the azteca series, if this is a custom? It's not an official piece, one cannot pull it out of the box just like this, so maybe the series should be removed?
